PIM International College is committed to producing professional graduates by way of experiential learning, knowledge and competence gains through Work-based Education. And here are the feelings that some of our alumni have shared, along with their awesome pieces of advice for juniors.
I’m currently serving as a government officer in Ministry of Social Affairs and dealing mostly with the document because I’m under the department of finance and administration.
- In your opinion which are the biggest benefits of studying iMTM at PIM in order to prepare you for your career?
I think the Work-based Education model. The very first internship is at 7-Eleven store where you can see the bottom of the business how does it really work then you can feel the feeling of as a labor worker because many people they would like to be a leader, a manager but they don’t understand about the feeling of how they feel so they keep ordering and asking to do something which just to meet their needs without understanding of the feelings I think it is a biggest thing and then working in 7-Eleven store giving me chance and opportunity to realize the real meaning of life, what life actually is. I can say the 7-Eleven is the main internship that I can learn a lot in this bachelor degree.
- What advice do you have for our juniors?
Grab opportunities and then work wholeheartedly and always remember the law of impermanence is that no matter how hard it is and there will be one day gone so go and work for it no matter what happen once you can overcome 7-Eleven internship it’ll be a lifetime memory.
– Panharith Pauv, iMTM Batch 1, Government Officer, Ministry of Social Affairs in Cambodia
Currently I’m a master’s student in national Taiwan Normal University I got a Taiwan ministry of education scholarship and I’m also currently do the freelance job which is the visual note taker so in that one I would be able I would like visualize the meeting and conference into the one-page summary so that is part of my job and I do it for the UNICEF and also The Stock Exchange of Thailand.
- In your opinion which are the biggest benefits of studying iMTM at PIM in order to prepare you for your career?
It’s about the internship for sure because I think that this curriculum also shaves me not to focus much on the study on textbooks but more like working. They give me the chance to meet with lots of people so then I can now work with the social enterprise and also with the NGO and staff so I think the internship lead me to the opportunity.
- What advice do you have for our juniors?
I would say that being a student you have a major opportunity to do lots of things because many people would like to engage with the youth and they will give more chance to those people who are in college or in high school therefore you should definitely use this opportunity to go explore more activities for example, chance to go aboard, go for a submit or workshops that only limited for students only
- If you can recommend iMTM program to anyone, what would you say?
I would say that you have a golden opportunity first, to work with a lot of various companies secondly, you also get a chance to do exchange students so example I went to Taiwan in my first year and then my last year I also go to Sweden so it was a very precious time to study abroad and lastly, the knowledge that you get is not less than other places cause not just only the class that you will study but you also learn from the hand-on experience so when you work, like many people really have a lot of impression about me that I can get along with people very well and also understand things very comprehensively and also swiftly.
– Nattapon Aunhabundit, iMTM Batch 2, Master’s Student, National Taiwan Normal University
Currently, I’m working in the marketing agency my role is the assistant manager development manager but actually my role also involves other roles as well, for example, even though I do the BD but I also help the marketing team to do the marketing campaign and also help the company to take care of their social media two platforms and on LinkedIn and on Facebook and basically my main role is to find a client who is interested to expand their business by using the online advertising.
- In your opinion which are the biggest benefits of studying iMTM at PIM in order to prepare you for your career?
I think it’s a must and I think iMTM PIM has something that other universities maybe may not see in the past three or four years. When I started at iMTM that thing is like having the student do the internship and try to encourage students to push them to gain more real work experience and I think that really benefited me a lot when I graduated. And by learning from PIM and have been joining many internships and many activities. I think it allows me to doesn’t feel fear to talk face to face with the CEO or our prospect, our client. So for me, it’s really helped a lot in terms of people skills talking to VIP clients.
- What advice do you have for our juniors?
I would say maybe don’t just study inside the classroom. Still, after the classroom you can go out to experience other stuff and also see the real cast that people have to do in their job for example, maybe when you are in the first year or second year you might not really know what role you are going to take so it’s better to have a chance to talk to those who like five years older than you so that you can experience. Then you can develop along that and build a connection and not just like join the activities outside the school or in the school. Still, you have to keep that connection continuously because after you graduate, you go to work. I think those connections will be a lot valuable so keep lasting connections not just join the activities.
And for those who haven’t join iMTM yet, if you are in high school and you are like still curious like where to join, I think PIM also quite a good start for you because you will have a lot of opportunities I think many teachers they are willing to support you and there are many activities that you can do here in PIM and also they have a lot of connections and also you have a chance to do internship and earn the money like along the way.
– Puchit Hongsawat, iMTM Batch 2, Business Development Manager/ Marketing Consultant, GDT Asia
I got here with CP presidential scholarship and so I am now doing my own business which is a Mookata and I am continuing my study in International Marketing program in University of Portsmouth in coming September because I got a scholarship and thanks to PIM.
- Which are the biggest benefits of studying iMTM at PIM in order to prepare you for your career?
There are a lot of opportunities that we can achieve from PIM because it’s a Corporate University so if you’re really interested in business it will be good for you and really unique compared to other universities in Thailand I believe that also the education that we’re doing like Work-based Education is the best thing that we have learned during our time because normally when we graduate we don’t know which career that we want and we have no experience but in PIM we don’t need to suffer those kinds of things. We can experience in a lot of departments during our internship time and we can decide what we’re good at.
There are a lot of opportunities that we can get in PIM for example walking in corporate in Thailand for our foreign students is really an honor and the best thing that I would like to thank for the biggest opportunity for me was Toastmaster Club in here. I got a lot of work connections so I can say that PIM is one of the biggest benefit as much as student can have.
- What advice do you have for our juniors?
It doesn’t matter where you study what you’re studying where did you graduate. The most important thing is what did you learn and what is your experience while you’re here what did you get for example during the internship did you really learn something did you get mature try to join like every contest try to do everything though you will know what you’re good at and you will find a lot of friends and please make sure that you do your own personal branding because it’s just the most important thing in your business area.
For those who are looking for a university. In Thailand normally students can do internships they can’t make money but in PIM it’s another level we do internship we study and you will go to the biggest company in Thailand like Siam Piwat. You can get into a lot of companies. This is a privilege that you will never have in other universities so just learn from the best because we have the best professional.
