Connecting All Possibilities with IR

PIM is known as the University of Networking with a network of educational partnerships over 222 universities around the world. There is an ongoing exchange of students without cease. When we see foreign or international students coming to study at PIM or PIM students going to study or doing internships abroad, a big part of this comes from the work of our International Office (IR). And today, we will get to know more about the IR.

About PIM’s Office of International Relations (IR)
Office of International Relations (IR) is committed to developing and implementing many of the Institute’s international activities of which includes faculty and student mobility and industry attachments or internships. International cooperation is a high priority for PIM as it provides a platform for the growth through the exchange of ideas and innovation; and sharing of multicultural values and tradition.

What they do:

• Global Connect
IR continuously creates and develops a network of national and international partnerships that provide opportunities for its student to harvest the abundant benefits of exchange programs, internships, graduate scholarships, short courses, and job opportunities abroad from 300 international organizations, 222 universities in 31 countries, 46 embassies, and corporate groups whose businesses cover all types of profession in 18 countries.
It can be said that PIM has acquired the most networks from private sector, government sector, and the education sector, which is a tremendous advantage for PIM students who will be exposed to a broad and extensive experience. PIM’s worldwide network is prepared to cooperate to raise the standards of Thai education.

• Faculty and Student Mobility

IR provides exchange opportunities for PIM’s students to experience international classes in other countries. Besides the outgoing students, PIM also receives students from around the world to do an exchange program at the university. Also, internship opportunities are available for both PIM students and their partners. PIM offers internship experience in Thailand and abroad. Also, IR hosts interns matriculating from partner universities, from time to time.

• Short courses

IR provides Short Course Program on Thai Business and Culture that is especially developed for international students who are looking to expand their knowledge in cross-cultural management and international business, with an emphasis in Thailand.

Core sessions are delivered in collaboration with recognized scholars, industry experts, and teaching specialists covering current issues in international business, particularly within the Thai business context. The program may include special courses on basic Thai language skills, culinary arts, and traditional fine arts.

Participation in this short course will anchor students’ understanding of Thai business and culture while building interpersonal skills that are essential in today’s dynamic and increasing Asian-focused global economy.

• Student Development

IR organizes activities to improve students on their development of English language skills and personal growth, such as IR Café, this activity aimed to create a space for students to develop conversational skills and enhanced the confidence of students while also developing their critical thinking skills, which is important when carrying a conversation.

ED-GO (English Development for Global Opportunity) is an afternoon workshop that simulates situations such as job interviews. In collaboration with several faculty to assist in preparing PIM students for the real workplace. The program also includes tutorials on building a strong resume and shares the basics of writing professional e-mails.

“Our mission is to promote the international environment to our staff members and students to become global citizens. I think that today being a global citizen is very important. Not only can we speak English, but we can also make global friends in order to build and grow a network. Moreover, each of us can form a long-lasting friendship. It’s not that they won’t continue their friendship after their graduation, since many friendships can last a lifetime. And this is the concept that IR would like our students to become.”
