On 15 June 2022, PIM exchange students were fortunate to pay a courtesy visit to Swedish Ambassador to Thailand, H.E. Mr. Jon Åström Gröndahl, and his team.
H.E. Mr. Jon Åström Gröndahl welcomed the group with a fika, a Swedish tradition of meeting together for coffee.
Led by the Director of PIM’s Office of International Relations Dr. Usanee Kulinthornprasert introduced the exchange students from the University of Boras, Sweden: Mr. Almir Smrkovic, Mr.Ozzy Babaeva, and Mr. Simon Engström Ahlsson. They were accompanied by Ms. Rachel Lai, also an exchange student at PIM from Shih Chien University, Taiwan.
Each student was given a chance to share their experience during this 6-month term at PIM. Mr. Ozzy explained how the 4-month study and 2-month work program helped him to understand business contexts in Thailand. Mr. Simon shared how many activities helped round up his experience as he set his eyes on an international business career. Mr. Almir said that PIM enabled him to access a variety of case studies to underline several marketing and management strategies. Ms. Rachel expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to join the courtesy visit.
The exchange students jointly expressed their satisfaction with the opportunities to learn and develop their skill by joining the activities such as company visits to a Toyota Showroom and The Forestias. They were immersed in educational programs such as interaction with students from partner primary schools in Suphanburi through CONNEXT ED. They were at times assigned tasks to give campus tours to partners and visitors of CP, participated in Thai cooking classes, a visit to the famous train station market called “Talad Rom Hub”, Amphawa, and several seaside trips. All students expressed how life-changing their exchange study at PIM has been.
The visit culminated with a tour of the embassy premises where the exchange students were able to see the work style and space of the diplomatic staff.
