Mr. Heikki Karhu, Charge de Affairs a.i., Embassy of Finland shared his thoughts on the qualifications of teachers during the Finland and Satit PIM Education Showcase 2020 on 11 November 2020 at the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok. Over 100 participated in the event, with 4 representing the Embassy of Finland. Ambassador-Designate Mr. Jyri Jarviaho was also present during the event.
“Being a son of two teachers, a brother of two teachers, and a product of the Finnish school system, I feel this topic is close to my heart”, Mr. Heikki mentioned as he outlined 5 attributes that Finnish teachers possess. The five attributes are respect, competence, trust, empowerment, and joy.
He added “an impressive example of the good relationship is that in December 2017, SATIT PIM opened its Finnish model classroom, as the Institute’s concrete commitment to excellence in education.”
The keynote was followed by a panel discussion with speakers: Mr. Prawit Srinongwa and Dr. Saral Pacheun from Satit PIM and Asst.Prof.Dr. Sitthikorn Sumalee from Kasetsart University. This session was moderated by Mr. Supachoke Opasakhun of Amarin TV.
