On 9 October 2020, Dr. Kongkiti Phusavat, Lecturer, University of Oulu, Finland, gave a special lecture under the topic of “Finland and Teacher Education” to Faculty of Education, Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM).
The lecture covers the areas of Finnish pedagogical practices, philosophy and thoughts, and demonstration of education-related research. He noted that the Finnish co-teaching or team teaching style by combining two or more subjects together leads to critical thinking skills to the students. Dr. Kongkiti also emphasized that experimental learning is the main pedagogical practice in Finland and that life skills could be integrated into every lessons.
In the end, Dr. Kongkiti motivated the faculty members to increase the students’ engagement as it aims for higher learning achievement. After the talk, a Q&A session and concluding session was moderated by Dr. M.L. Sornsiri Voravarn, Dean, Faculty of Education.
