On 2September 2021, Panyapiwat Institute of Management (PIM) held a virtual Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony with Sophia University. Signing the agreement will allow more opportunities for PIM’s students and employees to do exchange programs with Sophia University while students from Sophia University will be able to do internships at PIM and CP ALL. Now, activities are limited to online programs. When the Covid19 situation improves, a variety of onsite-activities will be available for both universities.
Prof. Dr.Terumichi Yoshiaki, President of Sophia University, addressed a speech about previous activities between PIM and Sophia University in a past few years. Sophia Global Education and Discovery (Sophia GED) has developed a cordial relationship with PIM by visiting PIM main campus, PIM EEC campus in Pattaya including the new CP Project called the Forestias. Moreover, there are many more activities waiting for the post COVID-19 era, Prof. Dr.Terumichi added.
“PIM is trying to be a dynamic university to cope with the new normal situation determined by various factors as follows. 1.The very rapid digitalization, 2. The crucial role of Financialization, 3. The Medicalization, 4. The climate change problem and 5. The Virtualization. These are the activities of PIM in order to be a dynamic university. As a result, I hope that, under our MoU, we can contact more closely and can learn from each other to contribute more internationally.” Assoc.Prof.Dr. Sompop gave a speech.
During the ceremony, Dr. Usanee Kulintornprasert also shared the history behind the cooperation. She mentioned that the first visit of Sophia University was on 4 December 2019 when Dr.Yasushi Hirosato, Managing Director of Sophia Global Education and Discovery Co., Ltd. (Sophia GED) visited PIM and Satit PIM, PIM’s demonstration school. Last year, Sophia University nominated 2 students to attend PIM’s first virtual online program called PIM V-LED, Dr. Usanee added. Dr. Usanee also mentioned that Dr. Yasushi Hirosato had a chance to visit CP’s new projects, the Forestias, on 25September 2020 and the new campus in Chonburi province, PIM EEC, on 8 December 2020.
