6 July 2021 marked the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Japan’s Bureau City of Kitakyushu and National Institute of Technology, Kitakyushu College (NITKIT) and PIM.
Due to the current Covid19 situation, the ceremony was held virtually over the Zoom application.
PIM’s Assoc.Prof. Sompop Manarungsan expressed his happiness in ensuring more opportunities for PIM’s students and employees to do internships, research, and exchange programs in the manufacturing industry of Kitakyushu.
PIM has sent more than a dozen of students to complete their internships with different organizations in Kitakyushu. Many of PIM’s students were offered to join their respective companies as full time and permanent employees. Representatives from the city of Kitakyushu has visited PIM twice and is also planning to return to PIM in 2020 after the pandemic to enhance business cooperation with CP ALL.
Kitakyushu City is located in Fukuoka Prefecture and is one of the major cities in Kyushu with the second largest population in Kyushu following Fukuoka City, Kitakyushu. Kitakyushu City has evolved as a manufacturing city, with key industries such as steel, chemical, ceramic, cement and electric. As one of the four largest industrial zones in Japan, the city has contributed to the economic growth of Japan.
